Anonymous asked: Hello Olena :) Firstly, I'd like to thank you for being a constant source of inspiration. To this day, when the subject of Art arises, I refer to you as one of my favorite artists, not only for aesthetic reasons, but for the depth, meaning and thought associated.. Secondly, I am also interested in physics but I have never really known where to begin to grasp the basic foundations. What would you recommend geezing out as a starting point? & Thirdly - You're amazing. Thank you for being you.

Hi! Thank you so much for those kind words. I truly appreciate this, especially as I’m trying to figure out what my work is now, or how to proceed with it — it can be a bit scary.

About physics… I came at it from an odd angle personally: New Age self-help books. I don’t recommend those, but reading them made me a skeptic eventually. Important, since skepticism also drives curiosity. Thinking of it that way, I’d say start with watching Carl Sagan’s Cosmos series — it’s fantastic! Also try Richard Feynman’s Six Easy Pieces (also The Meaning of it All and Surely You’re Joking Mr. Feynman, even though they’re more biographical), Murray Gell-Mann’s The Quark and the Jaguar, Einstein’s Relativity, of course, Hawking’s A Brief History of Time

Carl Sagan & Richard Feynman are my favorites, because they’re so intensely passionate about physics & inquiry, & they relate the true beauty of it so well.

Hope that helps!

All the best,

O
